01In short
Ascent uses a handful of essential cookies to sign you in and to count visits fairly. We don’t use advertising cookies. Analytics cookies are only ever set if you say yes in the cookie banner, and the site works exactly the same if you say no.
02Essential cookies
These are needed for the service to work, so they don’t need consent under PECR. They are first-party and never used for advertising.

03Analytics cookies
We don’t set any analytics cookies today. If we add product analytics in future, they will only load after you choose “Accept analytics” in the banner, and we’ll list them here with their provider and duration before they go live.
04Third-party services
- Stripe sets its own essential cookies on checkout pages to process payments securely and prevent fraud.
- Cloudflare Turnstile may set essential cookies on sign-in and submission forms to tell people from bots.
- MapTiler serves map tiles. It receives your IP address as part of each request, but doesn’t set cookies through Ascent.
05Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Use the button below, or clear the exp_consent cookie for this site in your browser settings, and the cookie card will appear again so you can choose again.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block essential cookies, you won’t be able to sign in, but you can still browse the map, startups, jobs and places.
